XV Ironman Lanzarote Canarias Triathlon…
next 20 May

951 athletes have entered… we will soon close the entries…as the limit of 1000 is almost reached…

We are proud to present one of those generous triathletes who take the opportunity of their participation into our Ironman Lanzarote to raise money for charity.

Brian Caswell’s intention is to buy Chemocaps and a Patient lift for cancer patients for King Edward VII hospital in Windsor where his father was cared for in his last days with lung cancer. In particular, being an admirer of Lance Armstrong's amazing life achievements...who started out as a triathlete, before battling cancer during his record 7 time Tour De France Championship! He, like the nurses at Windsor noted that children diagnosed with cancer, often ask first "will I lose my hair" Well using Chemocaps during treatment children receiving Chemotherapy, have a chance of keeping their hair and dignity during treatment.

Brian also has a web site for people to donate direct www.justgiving.com/ironman06 .

So far, they have raised £115 on sponsorforms and £190 on website, and that’s in just for days! People can donate by credit/debit card on line, or cheque: payable to Friends of King Edward VII Hospital. Or after the event!

The Friends of King Edward VII are a registered charity (268828) and a volunteer service providing amenities and comforts to patients and their carers, as well as helping Brian raise funds to purchase this special equipment for the hospital.

“It’s a great time to remember our families, cancer patients, friends and ourselves! We are all involved with doing something quite remarkable….and I suggest we can all take warmth, and smile with the knowledge we are part of a team that is directly and Tax freely (both by Gift Aid and the monies collecting buying Chemocaps & Patient lift direct tax free through hospital) providing smiles through dignity to people!” Brian explains and sends us a cheeky picture taken with former World Champion Norman Stadler whilst getting some warm weather training last November at Club La Santa.
