Men and women of all ages and from all around the World, come to Lanzarote to participate into this event, which is mucho more than just a sport event. Indeed, it proves / shows the ever existing intention of the human being to seek for more and more challenging goals.
Therefore, the organization of such an event also generates the simultaneous stories of other people, without whom the event could never become reality.
The documentary “The legend of the Ironman” intends to relate the store of thus people and their motivation to perform what they do, all from a human point of view, where the sports event itself becomes the less relevant part, if you compare it to the illusions, the deceptions and the reasons of their own lives.
Where is the actual strength of the human being located, in his muscles or in his will to perform impossible deeds…? What is the price to be paid for this…? From an unrecoverable injury, to the loss of a job…How far are they ready to go in order to reach their dreams…?
These will be the main ideas to set up the 30 minutes documentary film for television broadcast due to be shown on Canal 8 TV in the Program Natural Territory directed by Marga Pereda.
Canal 8TV is the television channel of the communication group Vocento in the northern Spanish autonomic community of Cantabria. The program Territorio Natural is directed by Marga Pereda, journalist specialized into Environment and nature activities.
Marga Pereda was given the national environmental journalist prize in 1997, national prize of nature defence 2002. She develops her profession in the radio, the written press as well as television. |
