For Stefan Haas it is like a small miracle that his daughter Alisa can participate in a children’s triathlon. The life of the now 8-year old, who suffers since birth from a severe disease of the inner organs, hasn’t always been that sure. ‘ The first years we didn’t know if she ever would be healthy’, says the 37-year-old Stefan. Therefore they are even happier now that she got better. In gratitude to this miracle Stefan decided to now help other ill children.

During the Ironman Lanzarote on the 21 st of May he will raise money for children who suffer from cancer and Alisa makes her triathlon debut at the Ironman Kids-edition.

For the charity action Stefan is going to do every single kilometre** under the motto

‘Ironman Kilometres for Kids with Cancer’ Besides a lot of individuals he also made a lot of companies enthusiastic about his charity action.

Collaborating partners are the Frankfurt Foundation for children with cancer

( www.kinderkrebsstiftung-frankfurt.de) and the children’s cancer station of the Goethe-institute in Frankfurt.

The German magazine ‘Triathlon’ supports the project and became a sponsor for race kilometre 225 of the Ironman on the beach promenade in Puerto del Carmen. Everyone can support this action by contributing some money and transferring to the account of the Foundation of Frankfurt for cancer sick children. (Frankfurter Sparkasse 1822, BLZ 500 502 01, Konto 887 000). Important is to write down the word ‘225’ as the purpose of the money transfer and your address. Only then it will be possible for ‘Triathlon’ to find out how much money the readers of the magazine contributed. Also every contributor will receive a tax deduction certificate after payment.

**To become a sponsor of a specific kilometre, you need to donate 50 €. For people wishing to collaborate with smaller amounts, money collection cans will be located at different points on race day and during the week previous to the Ironman.
